Humble Pansies, Happy Thoughts

November 3, 2011

Autumn blooms, bright and clean, facing the sun
calmly, quietly, with perfect optimism.
Your freshness and vivid colors inspire me.
Despite the cold air, beneath the wind and mist,
you sit patiently, needing very little.
Thank you for your simplicity.
Thank you for reminding me
that beauty resides in every little humble space.

This year I only started miniature pansies to transplant. The hardy little spots of color continued to bloom weeks after everything else had frozen! Next year, I plan to start even more….
